Terms of Service

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Welcome to Climbr. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of climbrhq.com and any associated services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Climbr is an AI-powered career platform that helps you discover job openings, tailor your resume, track applications, and prepare for interviews. We pull job listings from third-party sources and use AI to score, rewrite, and personalize content for you.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

You may sign up using your email or a third-party login (such as Google). Your use of any third-party login is also subject to that provider's terms.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Climbr offers Free, Basic, Pro, and Elite plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Climbr to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Cancellation. You may cancel anytime from your account. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period; we do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial periods unless required by law. Deleting your account (Settings → Data & privacy) also cancels your subscription: it is set not to renew, and access continues until the end of the current period.

Price changes. We may change prices for future billing cycles. We will notify you in advance, and the new price will only apply after your current cycle ends.

4. AI-Generated Content

Match scores, resume rewrites, interview prep, and other AI-generated outputs are produced by large language models. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You are responsible for reviewing anything AI-generated before submitting it to an employer.

Climbr does not guarantee job offers, interviews, or any specific career outcome. The Service is a tool, not a placement agency.

5. How Climbr Uses AI

Climbr runs on AI. Reading your resume, scoring jobs against it, tailoring it to a posting, and writing cover letters are done by AI models run by outside companies. AI is part of how the Service works, so there is no separate AI switch or consent screen: by creating an account or using Climbr (on the website, in the iPhone app, or in the browser extension) you agree to what this section describes. If you do not agree, do not use Climbr, or delete your account.

  • What we send. Depending on the feature you use: your resume text (including the contact details at the top of it, or the image itself if you upload a scan or photo), your profile and preferences, and the job descriptions you look at. If you have added them, also your self-attested security-clearance details, citizenship and work authorization, your skills, and your answers to tailoring questions. Anything you paste into an AI feature (for example LinkedIn text, a job offer, or an interview answer) is sent too.
  • Who receives it. Anthropic, Cerebras, and Amazon Web Services (Amazon Bedrock). Each one gets the data the feature you are using works from. The Privacy Policy (Section 3, Who Sees Your Data) lists what each provider receives and what it does for us.
  • Why. To read your resume and pull out your work history, to score how well jobs match you, to tailor your resume to a posting, to write cover letters, and to power the other AI features you choose to use, such as interview prep and resume feedback. Some of this runs in the background, for example scoring new jobs against your resume overnight. AI output can be wrong, so you review it, and Climbr never sends anything to an employer unless you choose to apply.
  • What is never sent to an AI provider. Your passwords (your Climbr password, and any job-site sign-in you keep in the browser extension, which stays on your device), and the answers in your private answers vault and your voluntary self-identification answers (gender, race, veteran status, disability). The vault holds sensitive application questions such as criminal history, drug screening, non-compete agreements, visa type, salary expectations, and references. Your card number goes to Stripe, never to us or to an AI provider.
  • How long it is kept. Climbr keeps your resume and the AI results (match scores, tailored resumes, cover letters) in your account until you delete your account. After you delete your account there is a 30-day grace period, then your personal data is permanently deleted from Climbr. Each AI provider handles what it receives under its own terms, which Climbr does not control. We do not sell your data, and your resume is never used for advertising.
  • How to delete it. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & privacy on the website or Me → Delete account in the iPhone app, or by emailing support@climbrhq.com.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any law
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service via automated means
  • Submit false or misleading information in your profile, resume, or applications
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
  • Use the Service to harass, harm, or deceive others
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

7. Your Content

You retain all rights to the resume content, work history, and other personal information you provide ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant Climbr a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you — including sending it to AI processing partners (such as Anthropic) to generate match scores, tailoring, and interview prep.

AI is a required part of the Service. Match scores, resume tailoring, cover letters, interview prep, and our other core features run on AI, and there is no version of the Service without it. By using the Service, you agree that Your Content will be processed by our AI providers, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You can delete Your Content at any time by deleting your account, from Settings → Data & privacy on the website or Me → Delete account in the iPhone app (a 30-day grace period applies, reversible by signing back in), or by emailing support@climbrhq.com.

8. Our Content

The Service itself — including its design, code, branding, AI prompts, and curated data — is owned by Climbr and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without our written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third parties including job aggregators, payment processors, AI providers, and email/SMS providers. Their terms and privacy policies apply when their portion of the Service is used. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party job listings or the actions of third-party employers.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Climbr DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Climbr AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & privacy. Account deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period (reversible by signing back in) and then permanently erases your account and personal data; it also cancels any active subscription. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution — will survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Text Messaging (SMS)

If you opt in, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Climbr at the mobile number you provide — account and job-match notifications (for example, new jobs matching your saved profile). Consent is not a condition of any purchase, signup, or transaction, or of using the Service; every feature works without text messages. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your mobile number.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
